Baby season is here again, springtime in the time when everything comes to life, and often this causes trouble for many animals, esp. their babies, as with all the hustle and bustle of breeding and birth, accidents are bound to happen. Humans don't help these matters either, with tree trimming, lawn mowing and domestic animals being outside more often it creates an unsafe environment for wildlife. But that's what we are here for, to help those who are struggling to find their way in life!
These are our first babies of the year! Brought in by the naturalist at Pymatuning state park after they were found on the ground under the work truck, several of the babies had already expired, but thankfully these two mice were still alive and fighting to live. One of the babies has a broken front leg, a puncture on its belly and a slice on its throat, the nest was likely attacked by a predator. We are doing our best to pull him thru his horrific experience!
