mama opossum has done remarkably well, she came in a month ago with 4 babies after being found one eyed and bleeding, likely hit by a car. the vet was sure euthanasia was her only option and recommended I keep her on pain meds for a week to wean the babies and then euthanize her. however, after a week I saw improvements so i continued to work with her. she is still under observation to determine her future, but I see a possibility of her becoming a registered education animal for our wildlife center due to her loss of vision.
